The Governor's Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development (OTTED) serves as liaison for the State with the Florida Washington Office, the Florida Congressional Delegation, and various U.S. Government agencies with respect to laws or policies which may affect the interests of the State in the area of international relations. OTTED also serves as a liaison with other states regarding international programs which are of interest to Florida.

In addition, OTTED encourages relocation to Florida of consular offices, multi-lateral organizations, and international agencies.

OTTED also plays a key role in contributing an international perspective to the State's economic development efforts by overseeing Enterprise Florida, Inc., the State's official economic development agency, and Florida FTAA, Inc.
